Exclusive financial advisor to Energie Ausserschwyz AG for successfully establishing its financing
With the signing of a loan agreement in the amount of CHF 60 million with a large Swiss bank as well as an additional equity raise the financing of the district heating project of Energie Ausserschwyz AG has been successfully completed. The ambitious investment project of Energie Ausserschwyz AG with the construction of an energy centre with a wood-fired combined heat and power plant and a biogas plant as well as a comprehensive district heating network can now proceed at full speed.
With the realisation of the district heating project, Energie Ausserschwyz AG, based in Galgenen, will in the first expansion stage supply the population of five villages in the districts of Höfe and March in the canton of Schwyz with environmentally friendly heat and electricity. The first goal of Energie Ausserschwyz AG is to operate the district heating pipelines in the first two municipalities within the 2021/22 heating season. In the medium term, further stages of expansion are planned to connect additional municipalities in the region to the district heating grid. Energie Ausserschwyz AG is thus making a significant contribution to the switch to more ecologically energy sources and to the implementation of the Swiss energy strategy.
IFBC acted as exclusive financial advisor to Energie Ausserschwyz AG during the entire financing process, from the preparation of the financial plan and the structuring of the financing request, to the negotiations with potential investors to the signing of the loan agreement and the financing documents with a major Swiss bank.
To further strengthen the shareholder base, an important strategic partner was also found in Brugg Group AG. The Brugg Group AG, based in Brugg, includes Brugg Rohrsystem AG, based in Kleindöttigen, which produces district heating pipes, and Rittmeyer aqotec AG, based in Baar, which develops heat transfer stations. The shareholder base of Energie Ausserschwyz AG has thus been strengthened with a strategic industrial partner in addition to EW Höfe AG as the main shareholder and the Züger family as initiator. With the new shareholder, Energie Ausserschwyz is further expanding its competence in the field of district heating. In addition to the shareholders, the board of directors has also been expanded to include the CEO of Brugg Rohrsystem AG and an independent expert.
