IFBC was instructed by the Swiss Federal Office of Energy (Bundesamt für Energie) to develop a methodology for determining sustainable risk-adjusted cost of capital. The approach developed was implemented by the Swiss Federal Council (Bundesrat) during the amendment of the Power Supply Ordinance, and thus provides the basis for the measurement of the risk-adjusted compensation to the Swiss grid operators. The Swiss Federal Office of Energy is the federal body vested with powers over issues relating to energy supply and energy use.
