Exclusive Financial Advisor to EnergiNova

EnergiNova AG is an alliance of 19 gas utilities in the cantons of Zurich, Aargau, St. Gallen, Schwyz and Glarus. The alliance’s main purpose is the joint procurement of gas and ensuring regional gas transport. Through a joint venture, EnergiNova also holds stakes in local transport infrastructure. The aim was to develop a new financing solution for this infrastructure at joint venture level that would be sustainable in the medium to long term. This required taking into account the differing requirements and interests of various stakeholders while securing a financing structure suitable for the joint venture in the long term.

IFBC was mandated as Financial Advisor to identify and evaluate various financing options and to assess their advantages and disadvantages together with EnergiNova. On this basis, the potential financing routes were specified in more detail and suitable financing partners were identified.

IFBC then conducted a structured and competitive process in which offers were obtained, compared and negotiated with the potential financing partners. Taking into account the financial, structural and other requirements, bank loan financing was identified as the preferred solution. It was subsequently implemented together with the selected financing partner.

IFBC supported EnergiNova throughout the entire process: from developing and evaluating the financing options, approaching and negotiating with financing partners, through to drafting the contracts and the successful disbursement of the funds.
